Mosel Riesling is a touchstone for the aromatic variety the world over. Steep, slate slopes make for thrilling, flexible Riesling fragrant of wet stones, petrol, white blossoms, and orchard fruit and flavours that run the gamut. Lower alcohols allow for greater nuance and the textures are at once plush and lifted. Riesling of the Mosel is like a gothic church rising from hard bedrock –at once completely grounded and yet heavenly and incorporeal. Pork, ham, scallops. Salmon or tuna most anyway even tartare. Asian food. An excellent wine with food.
